Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on Social Stamp, and how you can control them.

Last updated: 19 March 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over time so you don't have to re-enter them whenever you return or navigate between pages.

Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored until they expire or you delete them). They can be set by us (first-party) or by third-party services we use (third-party).

2. How We Use Cookies

Social Stamp uses cookies for two purposes:

  • Essential operation: To keep you logged in, protect your session, and ensure the platform functions correctly.
  • Analytics: To understand how visitors use our website so we can improve the product.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies for retargeting, or sell cookie data to any third party.

3. Cookies We Use

Cookie Name Type Purpose Duration
better_auth.session_token Essential Authenticates your login session. httpOnly and Secure — not accessible via JavaScript. 30 days (or until logout)
ss_admin_token Essential Authenticates admin panel sessions. HMAC-signed, httpOnly. Only set for admin users. 8 hours
_ga Analytics Google Analytics — distinguishes unique visitors. Set by Google. 2 years
_ga_* Analytics Google Analytics — maintains session state for our specific GA4 property (G-MRLSB5L1FF). 2 years
_gid Analytics Google Analytics — distinguishes users within a 24-hour window. 24 hours

4. Third-Party Cookies

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect aggregated, anonymised information about how visitors use our site — pages visited, session duration, device type, and geographic region. Google may set cookies on your device to enable this tracking.

Google's use of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use Razorpay cookies on our main site; Razorpay cookies only appear within their payment modal when you initiate a transaction.

5. Local Storage

In addition to cookies, we use browser localStorage to temporarily store scroll position and UI preferences (such as whether you've dismissed an announcement). This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

6. How to Control Cookies

Browser Settings

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here are links to instructions for common browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge

Please note: disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to Social Stamp, as session authentication relies on the better_auth.session_token cookie.

Google Analytics Opt-Out

To opt out of Google Analytics across all sites, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

7. Do Not Track

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. We currently do not alter our data collection practices in response to DNT signals, as no universal standard for DNT interpretation has been adopted. We may revise this position as standards evolve.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes or as regulations evolve. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. We will notify registered users of any material changes.
